Meet Emily

Emily started experiencing symptoms of Frozen Shoulder over a year ago. A condition in which the capsule of connective tissue that encases the shoulder joint thickens which causes pain and restricts mobility. At an early onset, Emily had occasional aches and pains but her shoulder became worse until she had extremely limited mobility of her right arm and wasn’t able to perform normal daily tasks without pain. “I was only wearing shirts that would button down the front because that was the only way I could get a shirt on. Washing my hair or picking up my cat – anything was painful.

Emily’s Treatment Experience

When Emily first came to One Wellness, she wasn’t able to raise her arm higher than 45 degrees from her side without it causing pain and experienced daily pain of a level 8 out of 10. After Emily’s first treatment, she was able to fold her arms – a simple task she wasn’t able to do without pain before. Following Emily’s 3rd treatment, her pain had reduced to a 4 (out of 10) and benefited from improved range of motion.

In between treatments, Emily performed various at-home exercises and light shoulder stretches to compliment the in-office therapy. With each treatment, Emily’s pain decreased while her range of motion and mobility improved until she was able to raise her arms above her head without experiencing pain.

Emily’s Results

Emily will say that her recovery was a gradual process but that it was worth it! She now has complete range of motion in her shoulder allowing her to raiser her arms above her head, hang up coats, pick up her cat and perform other daily tasks without pain. “It’s just been a few months of exercising, Acousana treatments and it’s been gradual but it’s just a little bit at a time and you just keep working at it and it gets better.
